Mainland Oil and Gas has reinforced its dedication to bolstering Nigeria’s energy security and sustainability by expanding its focus on high-quality lubricant production and promoting compressed natural gas (CNG) as an alternative energy source.
Dr. Chris Igwe, Managing Director of Mainland Oil, highlighted these efforts while speaking at the 2024 OTL Africa Downstream Energy Week in Lagos, Igbofacts reports.
Emphasizing Mainland Oil’s commitment to meeting diverse market needs, Igwe noted that their premium lubricants are crafted to optimize performance across industries nationwide.
“Our mission includes delivering high-quality lubricants that meet Nigeria’s growing energy demands,” he said, pointing to Mainland Oil’s substantial presence across Nigeria, making these products accessible and affordable to a broad range of customers.
On sustainable energy solutions, Igwe detailed the company’s efforts to promote CNG as a cleaner, cost-effective alternative to traditional fuels, citing CNG’s role in reducing emissions and enhancing energy security.
“We’re actively expanding our CNG distribution network to reach more industries and residential areas, aligning with our goal of environmental sustainability,” adding that Mainland Oil’s CNG-powered facilities further demonstrate its dedication to reducing carbon footprints.
Speaking on the importance of collaboration, Igwe praised the OTL Africa platform for fostering innovation and partnerships within the energy sector.
“This year, we’re engaging with operators across Africa to explore collaborative strategies for addressing distribution challenges and enhancing energy accessibility,” he stated.
Additionally, Igwe outlined Mainland Oil’s investment in logistics infrastructure, especially in its trucking facilities, to improve the efficiency of refined product delivery nationwide.
“Our robust logistics framework is central to our strategy, ensuring we can meet the needs of a growing customer base,” he explained.
Looking to the future, Igwe expressed Mainland Oil’s ambition to lead in both lubricant production and CNG distribution across Africa.
With over 54 outlets and expansion plans underway, the company aims to provide reliable energy solutions that drive economic growth and support Nigeria’s energy security.
Inviting further collaboration, he concluded, “Together, we can harness Africa’s energy resources to support sustainable development for generations.”
