In a significant boost to the welfare of state employees, Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru, has approved a new minimum wage of N75,000 for civil servants in the state.
Announced in a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Monday Uzor, this increase is intended to address the financial strain on workers due to the country’s rising cost of living.
The adjustment means that workers on grade level 2 will now receive the full N75,000 minimum wage, while those on grade level 3 and above will receive an across-the-board increase of N40,000.
This measure, effective from Monday, October 28, aims to improve the financial stability and opportunities for civil servants in the state.
Governor Nwifuru’s administration emphasized that the decision followed careful consideration of current economic challenges and aims to enhance the welfare and resilience of Ebonyi’s workforce.
